  • A copy of the original Transport Tycoon Deluxe game files

    The OpenTTD project has not yet reconstructed all the original Transport Tycoon graphics. Until then, you'll need a few files from the original Transport Tycoon Deluxe game. This can be a bit of a problem these days, because it's very hard to find a copy of TTD to actually buy any more. You could give Amazon or eBay a shot - second hand copies crop up from time to time. 70 oxygen level.

    If you can't find a copy of the game to buy, you could choose to download a copy of the game's data files. Be warned that this is still a violation of copyright and hence illegal, despite the fact nobody particularly enforces it.   • Downloading OpenTTD

    1. You can download OpenTTD from the OpenTTD web site. Make sure you download the package for the operating system you are using. For Windows users, the Windows installer package is the one you want. This guide will assume you are using the Windows installer. See below for notes for other operating systems.
    2. When the download has completed, double-click on the installer icon (eg, openttd-0.6.1-win32.exe). Click 'Next' until you get to the Choose Components screen. Ensure Copy Game Graphics is ticked. If you have already installed Transport Tycoon Deluxe for Windows, the installer should find out where you have installed it. If not, the following screen will be displayed:
      Click the .. icon and browse to the directory you have your TTD files in (eg, on the Transport Tycoon CD). If you downloaded the data files, make sure you have unzipped them, and browse to the folder that you placed them in.
    3. Setup will then ask you where you want to install the game. Generally, the defaults can be accepted fine from here on. Carry on pressing Next until the Setup program finishes.
    4. Congratulations! You have installed OpenTTD! You can now click on the OpenTTD icon in your Start menu, or on your Desktop if you chose to add an icon there, to play the game.
